Council to Consider Ice Rink Cover Structure Options June 10
Published on June 06, 2025
The Los Alamos County Council will consider conceptual alternatives for a cover structure to be installed at the Los Alamos Ice Rink during its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 10, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers, 1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos.
Staff from the Public Works and Community Services departments will present the options and seek Council direction on how to proceed. Since December 2024, the County project team has engaged the public through two listening sessions with the ice rink user groups, three Parks and Recreation Board meetings open to the public, and two community surveys.
Community feedback indicates strong support for a cover structure, with the majority favoring a mono-sloped design. At its May 8 meeting, the Parks and Recreation Board voted to recommend the mono-sloped option to the County Council.
