The Los Alamos County Public Works Department announces that a Pavement Preservation Project will begin on Monday, September 29, 2025, on North Mesa & North Community. The work, which will be performed by Albuquerque Asphalt, includes road closures, lane restrictions, and detours for several streets. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weather permitting).

Update - 10-15-2025

What to expect:

Residents can expect large construction equipment, elevated noise levels, and no street parking during working hours. The contractor will coordinate directly with residents and businesses to minimize disruption. Mail delivery, trash and recycling services, school bus routes, public transit, and emergency vehicle access will not be interrupted.

This maintenance is essential to preserving road quality and extending pavement life in the neighborhood. The County appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this temporary inconvenience.
