Affordable rental housing projects are located on DP Road. These are being financed by the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program.

Canyon Walk Apartments

Canyon Walk Apartments contain seventy (70) one, two and three-bedroom units reserved for moderate-income households. The development is situated between DP Road and the Canyon Rim multi-use trail.

Los Alamos County partners with Santa Fe Civic Housing Authority (SFCHA) - Espanola Office for Section 8 assistance. Housing specialist, Christine Archuleta, is in Los Alamos every other Wednesday, please call 505-753-3897 or the Social Services Division at 505-662-8068 for more information. Please click Calendar to view the dates the Santa Fe Civic Housing Authority is in Los Alamos.

Financial Resources/Assistance

Los Alamos County Utility Assistance Program

The purpose of the UAP is to provide assistance to qualified low income residential customers of the Utility during the periods of October 1st through March 31st, or year-round for citizens over age 65 or account holders qualified through the Social Security Administration for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or one-time assistance to account holders who demonstrate need due to unforeseen and unusual circumstances. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
LIHEAP assists eligible persons and families with their heating and cooling costs
