Once the TOU and the Residential Demand rate structure is in place, monthly bills will show three components:

  1. Service Charge of $22.50
  2. Demand Charge at the rate of $1 per peak KW
  3. Energy Charges
    • $0.1970/kwh for energy used during peak hours
    • $0.1100/kwh for energy used during non-peak hours

While you will see your kWh consumption totals for peak and non-peak hours, you will no longer see your actual meter reads

Per the American Public Power Association, 6 KW is the average for peak demand.

Per DPU's study conducted by outside contractor GDS, 31% of residential usage currently falls between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
