Brewer Rodeo Arena

The Brewer Rodeo Arena was named in honor of Lionel Brewer, an early and longtime supporter of the Stables and Arenas.

The Brewer Arena is an outdoor regulation sized rodeo arena equipped with attached stock pens and chutes. Additional features include bleachers that faces to the east, tough shed show office, and a crow’s nest.

  • Horses with riders have priority over horse turnout in the arena.

  • Please keep the gates closed.

North Mesa Indoor Arena

The Indoor Arena was completed in 2013. The primary use of this indoor facility is for exercising horses. Other animal-related groups in the community may also use the facilities, such as, but not limited to, the Search and Rescue dogs, 4H Club and dog training organizations for training and animal-related events.

  • Capacity is limited 49 people as set by the Los Alamos County Fire Marshall.

Red Jackson Dressage and Jumping Arena

Red Jackson was a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator. Red Jackson was a long- time member of the Sherriff’s Posse. He volunteered his time as a heavy equipment operator for the County of Los Alamos. In the 1990’s, he built and maintained the Dressage and Jump arena for the Equestrian Club. A Dedication Ceremony of the Los Alamos County Red Jackson Dressage and Jump Arena was held June 7, 1992, at the Sheriff's Posse Shack.

  • The Red Jackson Arena is located directly east of the Brewer Rodeo Arena. The arena features dressage letters, stadium jumps and cross-country jumps.

  • No horse turnout is permitted in this arena.

Trail Arena

  • The Trail Arena is also located directly east of the Brewer Rodeo Arena. It is a smaller fenced area that contains trail-type obstacles.

 

Round, Transient & Stock Pens

Round Pens

  • Three Round Pens are available to exercise your equine. 

  • Round pens are on a first-come basis, at no charge to the individual user.

  • Please be courteous and not monopolize the pens.

Transient Pens

  • Transient Pens located south of the Trail Arena and are available for temporary stabling.

  • No buckets or services are provided.

  • An agreement with Community Services for the use of these pens is required and fees may be applicable**

Stock Pens

  • The Stock pens are attached to the Rodeo arena and are also available for temporary or seasonal livestock use.

  • No buckets or services are provided, and manure removal is required.

  • An agreement with Community Services for the use of these pens is required and fees may be applicable**
