Power has been restored to the Western Area after a lightning related incident at about 12:50 p.m.  If power is still out in individual homes Stephen Marez, Deputy Utility Manager – Electric Distribution suggested that residents check their breaker switches before calling to report an outage. Often lightning storms can cause surges that trigger the breaker.

Standby electric linemen from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities were responding to a power outage in the Western Area of the townsite. Electric power was restored by 2:00 p.m.
