Main hill road is open as of 10:21 a.m.

UPDATE: Oct.8, 2025 @ 10:21 a.m.: LAPD has reopened the main hill road (NM 502). The road had been closed earlier this morning due to a rockslide. Thanks for everyone's patience.

Oct.8, 2025 @ 9 a.m.:  The Los Alamos Police Department has closed one lane on the main hill for an undisclosed amount of time due to a rockslide near Anderson Lookout.  Officers are allowing commuters to use one lane and directing traffic around the rockslide located near Anderson Lookout.  Commuters are encouraged to seek an alternate route and to expect delays.

Do not call Dispatch, they are aware of the situation. Please seek an alternate route. You will be notified when the road reopens. Only call 9-1-1 if you are experiencing an emergency.
