Los Alamos County, in collaboration with Vitalant, is hosting a blood drive to address the declining number of blood donations in the United States. The drive will take place tomorrow, October 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the bloodmobile parked in the Municipal Building parking lot at 1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos.

Blood donations are essential for saving lives, as there is no substitute for human blood. Many patients, including those undergoing surgeries, battling cancer, or facing emergencies, rely on blood transfusions for survival. However, the number of Americans who donate blood is decreasing, posing a significant challenge to maintaining an adequate blood supply.

To participate in this life-saving initiative, interested individuals are encouraged to make an appointment at https://donors.vitalant.org/ using the Blood Drive Code LACNM or call 877-258-4825. Appointments will take priority, but walk-ins are welcome.
