Emergency Management to host National Preparedness Month event

In celebration of National Preparedness Month, Los Alamos County Emergency Management invites the community to a special event focused on emergency preparation. The event will be held on Sept. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the SALA Event Center. Participants will receive supplies, including sports bags, flashlights, and water bottles. There will be children's activities featuring Penny the Preparedness Pup. Los Alamos National Laboratory Emergency Management will showcase one of their robots used for hazardous materials.
In addition to the preparedness exhibits, one theater will feature a free screening of the movie Twisters, a thrilling, disaster-themed film perfect for National Preparedness Month. Admission to the movie will be first-come, first-served for the first 100 people. The movie will begin at 7 p.m. Light refreshments such as popcorn and soda will be provided to event attendees.
