Acting Los Alamos County Manager Linda Matteson has ordered an early release for non-essential county employees and the early closure of all non-essential county government facilities at 2 p.m. today, November 6, due to inclement weather.
The
Board of Public Utilities Work Sessions will proceed as planned today at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, located at 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, with an option to join
via Zoom. Participants are encouraged to attend virtually.
Additionally, there will be no disruption to today’s refuse and recycling pickup routes. Environmental Services will complete its scheduled route as planned.
Atomic City Transit’s fixed-route bus service will operate until 3 p.m. today, followed by dial-a-ride service from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. To schedule a ride, please call 505.661.RIDE (7433).
County Traffic and Street crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the
FY2025 Snow and Ice Plan. To aid in these efforts and ensure public safety, residents are asked to:
- Park vehicles off the street when possible.
- Stagger parked vehicles if off-street parking is unavailable.
- Keep storm drains clear of snow and debris.
- Avoid shoveling snow into the street.

My Commute webpage provides live updates on the conditions of major roadways in Los Alamos County. Drivers are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution if travel is necessary during the storm.
