Emergency Communication Center

Overview

What We Do

We process all inbound emergency/911 calls for police, fire, and medical responses within Los Alamos County, providing lifesaving instructions when needed. Additionally, we handle non-emergency calls related to animal control, after-hours utility issues, various county divisions, and the National Park Service for Bandelier National Monument.

Our Pursuit of Professional Excellence

The Los Alamos Emergency Communications Center is fully accredited through the New Mexico Emergency Communications Professional Standards Council. In addition, we are currently seeking national accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

We encourage you to provide your feedback through our CALEA public comment portal by clicking on the link below. The purpose of this public portal is to receive comments regarding an agency’s compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the participating agency with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
