The County will be installing 12 EV charging stations powered by six level 2 dual-port networked chargers at the Municipal Building parking lot (1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos).

R & M Construction LLC will perform construction work to accommodate the power supply systems and support pads for the chargers, install the chargers, make an accessible charging station, install bollards to prevent vehicles from hitting the chargers, and provide an emergency power shut-off.

Work will be confined to the parking area located between north side of the parking lot and Iris Street (see detail of map below). No interruptions to traffic are anticipated on Iris Street or in the Municipal Building parking lot.

These charging stations will be available to the public and for the County’s fleet at the completion of the project. A fee will be required to use the chargers at a rate of $0.23/kWh. The existing level 2 chargers will remain in operation during construction but will be decommissioned at the completion of this project.
