Aug 2023 - Staff Kick Off meeting

Sept 2023 - Initial Community Listening sessions for each playground. Meetings at Pinon and 37th street, Get additional feedback from the Youth Activity Centers and local schools.

Dec 2023 - Return with two options for review by user groups at on-site public meetings, meet in locations near the playgrounds.

Jan 2024 - Finalize designs - Parks and Recreation Advisory Board presentation.

Feb 2024 - RFP and Bid for playground renovation.

Scope of the Project

Playground renovation is the responsibility of the Parks and Open Space division. These playgrounds were identified as needing improvements to meet American with Disabilities Act accessibility requirements and as needing improvements based on the CSD Integrated Master Plan. The renovation will improve safety, access, and update amenities. In August 2023 the Community Service Department started the process with staff kick-off meetings, and Sept 2023, Initial Community Listening sessions for each playground began. Cory Styron, the Community Services Director gathered feedback from youth at local schools and Activity Centers. Based on input already received, there are two concepts that we would like your feedback on.
