Los Alamos County officials are pleased to announce that Chief Financial Officer Melissa Dadzie, who oversees the Finance Division of the Administrative Services Department (Finance), and her staff have been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting on July 15, 2025, by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). Specifically, the achievement recognizes excellence in reporting annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. This Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in government financial reporting and accounting.

The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (Certificate Program) in 1945 to encourage governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles, according to its website https://www.gfoa.org/coa-award.

Los Alamos County and Finance is committed to the highest standard of fiscal stewardship as it has been routinely recognized by the GFOA for excellence in reporting for 34 consecutive years.
