On Thursday, May 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the final Public Engagement Input Session for the ongoing Artificial Turf Study will be held at Fuller Lodge. This session offers community members another chance to explore proposed field layout scenarios at the North Mesa and Overlook facilities, which feature a combination of artificial turf and natural grass fields. Attendees can ask questions and share feedback on the study’s progress. A Zoom option is available for those who prefer to participate virtually.

The Artificial Turf Study, conducted by NV5, aims to develop recommendations for optimal field designs and alignments that comply with regulations set by the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), USA Baseball, and USA Softball. The study also ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and will provide detailed construction estimates, long-term maintenance costs, required equipment, and management strategies for field upkeep.

The study is expected to be completed by Summer 2025. These public sessions ensure that the needs and concerns of Los Alamos residents are addressed as part of the decision-making process. Community members are encouraged to share their input to help shape the future of local sports facilities.
