County monitoring reports of internet and cellular outage

11/11/25 @ 11:46 AM: Los Alamos County officials are monitoring reports of an internet and cellular outage affecting the Los Alamos area, including White Rock. At this time, the source, cause and scope of the outage are unknown.
Officials report that 9-1-1 emergency calls are being rerouted to Santa Fe for handling. Residents should continue to dial 9-1-1 in an emergency and will be connected to dispatchers through the rerouting system.
Residents are advised that public Wi-Fi remains available at County facilities, including the Los Alamos County Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave.; Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave.; the White Rock Branch Library, 10 Sherwood Blvd, White Rock Senior Center, 139 Longview drive. While some facilities are closed today due to the Veterans Day holiday, the public Wi-Fi should remain accessible from nearby parking areas.
Those experiencing service interruptions are encouraged to contact their respective internet or cellular service providers, if possible, for assistance and additional information.
As more details become available, the County will provide updates on Los Alamos County’s emergency radio station at AM 1610 and through media releases.
