County government offices to close July 4 for Independence Day

In observance of Independence Day, Los Alamos County government offices and services will join other federal, state, and local governments and close on Friday, July 4, 2025.
The County’s administrative offices, Atomic City Transit fixed bus routes, public libraries, and the Environmental Services division are closed on Friday. In addition, the following facilities will have modified hours:
- Aquatic Center - Leisure Lagoon only open 9 a.m. - noon
- Golf Course - Golf Pro Shop and Driving Range open normal hours.
- Eco Station and White Rock Convenience Center will be closed. There will be no trash or yard trimming collection. Residents whose regular collection falls on the holiday should place their trash and yard trimming carts at the curb on Wednesday, July 2, for early pickup.
Atomic City Transit – No fixed bus routes or Dial-a-Ride services will be available. Bandelier shuttle will run within the park every 30 minutes. Regular fixed-route service will resume Monday, July 7.
Los Alamos County will hold the annual
4th of July Spectacular from 4 - 10 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park. Atomic City Transit will be providing shuttle services from 3 - 10:30 p.m. to and from Duane Smith Auditorium at the High School, Flint Soccer Field on North Mesa, and the White Rock Visitor Center. Buses will not run from 9 - 9:30 p.m. during the drone show. Paratransit services for certified and registered customers will also be provided, please call 505-661-RIDE (7433) to schedule your ride.
