Los Alamos County’s Finance Division has launched Open Books, an online platform designed to give residents an interactive and user-friendly way to explore how taxpayer and enterprise funds are budgeted and spent.

The Open Books portal is now live and can be found at losalamosnm.us/OpenBooks, located under the "Government" and “Transparency” section of the County website. The platform features interactive charts, graphs and summaries of County revenues, expenditures, departmental budgets, vendor payments and payroll records. Users can filter data by fund, department or fiscal year to gain deeper insight into the County’s financial decisions. The portal includes data from fiscal year 2022 to the present and is updated at the beginning of each business week to ensure timely and accurate information.

“Open Books is part of our ongoing commitment to fiscal stewardship,” said Chief Financial Officer Melissa Dadzie. “We want residents to have easy access to the information they need to stay informed about how Los Alamos County government operates.”

The tool is powered by Socrata, a Tyler Technologies product used by governments nationwide to improve public access to financial data.
