Don't Flush That
Some days it seems like the only things going through our sewer pipes are of the non-flushable variety! When folks flush things that shouldn't be flushed, it eventually becomes a problem, whether it be for homeowners, business owners, sewer crews or wastewater treatment staff.
If you have a business, remind those who use your potties to only flush appropriate items! Download DPU's signs for stalls below.
What is safe to flush?
- Pee
- Poop
- Toilet paper
- Hopes and dreams, but we don't recommend it
What is NOT safe to flush?
- Wipes (even if they say they're flushable!)
- Paper towels
- Tampons or any kind of feminine hygiene product
- Any paper product that is not toilet paper! Toilet paper disintegrates easily in water but other types of paper do not
- Pretty much everything else
Here's a link to a song to help you remember what not to flush
