Planning and Zoning Commission Decisions

QUASI-JUDICIAL DECISION APPLICATIONS ARE REVIEWED BY  THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION.

PROCEDURES CAN BE REFERENCED WITHIN THE LOS ALAMOS DEVELOPMENT CODE, SEC. 16-74:

Conditional Use Permit(PDF, 993KB):(PDF, 993KB) An application for uses listed as condition in Table 26: Permitted Use Table. Also required for modification or expansion of an existing conditional use.

Development Plan Adoption/ Major Amendment:(PDF, 1MB)  An application for a development plan associated with a new zone map amendment to a planned development (PD) zone district; or any changes to a previous development plan approved that changes the site development standards at a threshold greater than 20%.

Discretionary Wireless Telecommunication Facility Permit(PDF, 8MB):(PDF, 8MB) An application for a tower or antenna that is not otherwise administratively approved. 

Historic Economic Hardship Waiver(PDF, 1MB):(PDF, 1MB) An application for applicants who have been denied a historic property alteration certificate and may seek an exemption from all or portions of the requirements of the historic overlay (HP-O) based on economic hardship.

Major Historic Demolition Permit(PDF, 1MB):(PDF, 1MB) An application for demolition within a historic protection overlay. 

Major Historic Property Alteration Certificate(PDF, 1MB):(PDF, 1MB) An application for new construction over 200 square feet in gross floor area, and the relocation or demolition of a historic property within a designated historic protection overlay. 

Minor Zone Map Amendment(PDF, 1MB):(PDF, 1MB) An application for a zone map amendment to change a single tract, parcel or lot under common ownership; or the land or land affected by the map amendment is predominantly owned by a single person or entity under common ownership.

Site Plan Adoption/Major Amendment:(PDF, 1MB) An application for all new development within the county, except for the construction of individual single-family dwellings, and other exceptions listed within the Los Alamos Development Code.

 
Subdivision Application(PDF, 1MB): An application for the subdivision of land into more than two lots. (Sketch, Preliminary, Final)


Variance:(PDF, 1MB) An application for a deviation from Los Alamos Development Code more than the thresholds outlined for Administrative Deviations.
