Local Economic Development Act (LEDA): Under the Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) (5-10-1 to 5-10-13 NMSA 1978) the New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD) is granted authority to administer grants to Local Governments (Municipality and/or County); to assist expanding or relocating businesses that are Qualified Entities that will stimulate economic development and produce public benefits pursuant to LEDA. Los Alamos County may provide financial support for economic development projects in four general categories:
· industrial revenue bonds;
· small technology-based business financial assistance;
· building façade improvements; and
· other economic development projects.
Applications for participation in the category of Other Economic Development Projects will be evaluated for financial support on a first-come, first-served-basis up to an amount established by the County Council or up to the limit in a given fiscal year as governed by the Local Economic Development Act.(PDF, 231KB)
