Traffic Accident on East/West Jemez Road

UPDATE: 7/02/25 @ 3:30 p.m.: The scene has been cleared and the road is open.

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) responded to a traffic accident involving a sedan and an Atomic City Transit bus on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, around 10:35 a.m. The accident occurred near the guard shack at East/West Jemez Road. Minor injuries were sustained by the parties involved.

Also responding to the scene were the Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Los Alamos Fire Department. Due to the bus’s size, there will be delays until the vehicle can be towed and the area cleaned up. LAPD estimates the scene should be clear by 2 p.m.
