The Los Alamos Art in Public Places Board (APPB) invites the community to participate in a new 3-part Community Art Questionnaire online, now open through Friday, October 31, 2025. This effort is part of an ongoing initiative to shape a flexible and responsive roadmap for the County’s public art program.

How to participate

Who: The questionnaire is open to anyone

Questionnaire (three parts):

1) Los Alamos Public Art, Community Input

2) Sharing Your Thoughts, Selected Public Artworks

3) How Well do you Know Los Alamos Public Art?

Deadline: Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, midnight

The questionnaire is designed to gather a wide range of input from residents about their values, interests, and perspectives on public art in Los Alamos County. According to the APPB members, public participation is vital to help the Board better understand local priorities, make decisions about the existing collection, and plan for future public art projects.

While the APPB welcomes all feedback, it is important to note that the questionnaire is not a statistically significant survey, and responses will not directly determine the final direction of the program. Art is inherently subjective, and community views may differ, or even conflict. The APPB will consider all responses thoughtfully, alongside other planning, logistical, and artistic factors, in shaping a balanced and inclusive approach to public art.
