Los Alamos Public Library now offers access to more than 150 live and
on-demand GetSetUp classes through its website, losalamoslibrary.org. No library card is required to access these free classes.

The New Mexico State Library is excited to provide this new learning platform, GetSetUp, thanks to funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The State Library has partnered with public libraries statewide to make this valuable resource available to all New Mexico residents.
GetSetUp’s digital literacy courses include basic overviews on using Microsoft, Apple, Androidand Google devices and applications, as well as rundowns on artificial intelligence — both as a tool and a potential scam mechanism. New topics are added to the course catalog each week. Participants gain confidence and skills in using technology, making it easier to stay connected with family, friends and essential services.

Beyond digital literacy, New Mexicans have access to courses on nutrition, health, financial
security and lifestyle activities. Topics include healthy cooking, gardening, virtual travel and
fitness. Classes range from about 15 minutes to an hour.

GetSetUp, the leading peer-to-peer learning platform for older adults, reaffirms its commitment
to advancing health equity and digital literacy. The collaboration demonstrates the power of
digital solutions to address health disparities, particularly among underserved and rural
populations, while enabling measurable improvements in health outcomes and quality of life for
older adults.

GetSetUp’s platform offers scalable, cost-effective benefits that address social determinants of
health, including:

- Fitness and fall prevention: Interactive sessions encourage active lifestyles and reduce injury
risks.

- Digital literacy: Technology tutorials foster independence and access to telehealth and online
resources.

- Senior nutrition: Cooking classes and meal planning promote better dietary habits.

- Caregiver support: Resources for family caregivers ensure they feel prepared and supported.

The project’s mission is to provide an online platform that celebrates every older adult, offering
opportunities for physical, mental and social growth and enabling participation in communities
with a renewed sense of joy, purpose and fulfillment. Sign up for a free class today and start
living your best tomorrows.
