Quarterly employee training and facility maintenance date moved

Los Alamos, New Mexico – Los Alamos County Environmental Services will be closed Wednesday, Sept. 24, for employee development, safety training, certification compliance, and facility maintenance. This closure, originally scheduled for October 29, has been moved to better accommodate operational needs and training schedules. The closure includes operations at the Eco Station and the White Rock Overlook Convenience Center.

While residential curbside trash collection will not be affected, the following services will be suspended on Wednesday, September 24:

  • Commercial trash collection
  • Commercial recycling roll cart collection (including County facilities)
  • Residential “Bar Project” collection:
  • San Ildefonso Road 101-171 residents.

Collection services for those impacted will be provided Thursday, September 25.

Environmental Services will hold one training and certification day per quarter to ensure all employees remain compliant. The quarterly closure is to minimize the impact on the public by ensuring services are as fully staffed as possible on all other days. This will be the final scheduled training closure for 2025.
