Los Alamos County’s Social Services Division, in partnership with LA Cares, Self-Help, Trinity on the Hill, Los Alamos MainStreet, and other local organizations, extends heartfelt thanks to residents and volunteers across Los Alamos and White Rock for supporting the "I Can Help" emergency food assistance program.
Launched last week in response to the ongoing federal government shutdown and rising food costs, the initiative provides meal kits to individuals and families facing hardship. Thanks to the generosity of community donors and the work of volunteers, more than 125 emergency food kits have been assembled, distributed and available for pick-up now, at the following locations (check each organization’s business hours):
There is no requirement to show ID or proof of need.
“This is a wonderful example of what can happen when our community comes together,” said Social Services Manager Jessica Strong. “We’re so grateful for the outpouring of support.”

  • SALA Event Center, 2551 Central Avenue
