County Reschedules MRA Q&A Session for Nov. 5
Published on October 07, 2025
Due to a scheduling conflict, Los Alamos County has rescheduled its question-and-answer session to discuss Metropolitan Redevelopment Areas (MRAs) in Los Alamos and White Rock to Wednesday, November 5, from 5:30–7 p.m. in the Boards and Commissions Room, 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, New Mexico. A hybrid option will be available for remote participation via Zoom.
Staff from the Community Development Department will provide an overview of MRAs, explain the designation process, and answer questions about opportunities for property owners and the broader community. MRAs are districts where public and private investment can be focused to revitalize underutilized or blighted areas.
The designation of MRAs in Los Alamos and White Rock will help support new housing, local businesses, and the redevelopment of underutilized commercial property. County staff will also review potential funding mechanisms and how redevelopment projects can leverage both public and private investment.
The session will be recorded and posted to the Los Alamos County website for those unable to attend. For more information, contact Anita Barela at anita.barela@losalamosnm.gov.
