Los Alamos County is honored to have been selected by the National League of Cities as an official stop on their Centennial Roadshow: 100 Years, 100 Cities. This initiative is part of NLC’s year-long celebration, marking a century of commitment to advancing local government and advocating for the interests of cities, towns and villages nationwide.
The roadshow, organized by NLC, includes in-person and digital stops to 100 cities in regions of the country aimed at spotlighting the diversity, resilience, and transformation of America’s local communities. The roadshow kicked off in February at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, where NLC was founded. Since then, the roadshow has toured cities of all sizes to showcase the unique stories of municipalities just like Los Alamos County.
“As a long-term member of the National League of Cities, Los Alamos County honored to be able to celebrate the NLC Centennial Roadshow as a digital stop,” explained Intergovernmental Affairs Manager Danielle Duran, “This shows the NLC dedication to and diversity of its membership.”
As part of the roadshow, Los Alamos County will be highlighted as a digital stop November 6, 2024, on the National League of Cities social media sites (@leagueofcities). Members of the public are encouraged to share photos and videos featuring aspects of the community’s unique history, National Parks, scientific significance, natural resources, and community partnerships, with community members sharing what makes Los Alamos special and unique to them.
