Community invited to vote on a name for the Broadband Network

Published on January 21, 2026

Wifi symbols emanate from a number of households. Text reads: Name our network. Community Broadband is coming to Los Alamos County. Help us name it!

Los Alamos County invites the community to help choose a name for the Community Broadband Network (CBN) with a brief, one-question survey. Results will be announced in four weeks, on February 18, 2026.

CBN is a County-owned, open-access broadband project that will bring affordable high-speed internet service to more than 10,000 homes and businesses in Los Alamos and White Rock. As an open-access network, the infrastructure will be available to multiple internet service providers (ISPs), giving customers more choices and promoting competitive pricing.

As construction phases are completed, the first customers may have access by Fall 2026. Customers will be able to visit the newly named CBN website and select from a range of ISPs, if they choose. More details about the CBN project may be found on the Los Alamos County website.
