Pavilion Construction and Los Alamos County celebrate new housing milestone

Pavilion Construction and Los Alamos County announced that The Hill Apartments, located at 141 36th Street, has officially received certificates of occupancy. The approvals include the clubhouse and three of the development’s eight apartment buildings, resulting in 24 new apartments now available for lease.

Another three buildings are expected to receive certificates of occupancy within the next 30 days, with the remaining buildings anticipated to be approved prior to the end of the year. When complete, the project will add 149 market-rate apartments to the County's housing inventory. The project is owned by LAH Investors, LLC, with Pavilion Construction serving as the general contractor.

The Hill Apartments sit on a 9.3-acre site that was once home to the U.S. Department of Energy-Los Alamos Site Office. Following the relocation of DOE's administrative functions, the property was conveyed to Los Alamos County for economic development purposes. The County provided infrastructure improvements to the area to pave the way for the private development to move forward.

Joseph Aguilar, Vice President of Construction with Pavilion, said the milestone was achieved through close coordination with the County. “We appreciate the County’s partnership in helping move this project forward to this stage,” Aguilar said. “It’s rewarding to see this project nearing completion and beginning to serve the community.”

Community Development Director Eli Isaacson said the milestone reflects the County’s broader goals. “Expanding housing options is a top priority for us, and The Hill Apartments represent meaningful progress toward that goal,” Isaacson said.
