Published on October 31, 2025
Atomic City Transit (ACT) concluded its Saturday service pilot program with ACT MyRide on October 25, 2025. The County expresses thanks to all the riders who made the program a success by utilizing the service, and are grateful to customers who provided insight by taking the survey and sharing about their transit experience.
For 13 weeks, beginning August 2, 2025, ACT was able to provide transportation service for Los Alamos and White Rock on Saturdays with its MyRide on-demand program, when traditional bus service is not provided. Following is an overview of the successful pilot program usage:
- Completed Boardings (people) - 473
- Total Completed Requests (trips) – 364
- Average Daily Completed Requests (trips) – 28
- New ACT MYRide App Profiles Created – 79
- On Time Performance – 98.6%
The County is discussing various cost models and operation options for future service implementation. The public is encouraged to give feedback by taking the survey, as ACT plans for what Saturday service may look like moving forward. The survey ends November 9, 2025. Find it online at lacnm.com/SatSurvey.
“The survey is essential to the ongoing effort to understand what is working and what areas we can focus on to improve customer experience in every ACT program,” said Atomic City Transit Manager James Barela
ACT aims to reflect the needs of our community, connectivity, accessibility, equity, and safety. The success of the Saturday service pilot program proves the investment doesn’t just get citizens where they’re going, it addresses services needs for those with financial barriers, reduces emissions, and promotes a more connected community.
ACT MyRide on-demand weekday service continues Monday-Friday, 5:15–6 a.m. and 6:30–9 p.m. in the Los Alamos and White Rock areas. Riders are encouraged to download the ACT MyRide app, available on Google Play or the Apple App Store, or call 505-661-RIDE (7433) to book your ride.
