Home Business Basics: Permits, Planning & Pathways to Growth

Los Alamos County Community Development Department is hosting a free public workshop titled “Home Business Basics: Permits, Planning & Pathways to Growth.” The workshop is designed to help aspiring and current home-based business owners navigate the steps to get started and stay compliant.

Topics include:

What qualifies as a home occupation vs. home business
Where and how these businesses are allowed
Licensing, fees, and application steps
Compliance standards like parking, signage, and employee limits

Attendees can ask questions during the presentation and speak with County staff afterward. A printed info packet with zoning, licensing, and contact details will be provided to in-person attendees. The packet and session recording will be posted online later.
