Join Los Alamos County’s Community and Economic Development team for a Q&A session about the proposed Small Retail Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) initiative. This event is open to local business owners and anyone interested in learning more.

Staff will introduce, walk through the Small Retail LEDA initiative and answer questions ahead of its formal presentation to County Council on August 5.

The initiative is designed to support small retail businesses that help fill local gaps, such as food service, clothing, health and personal care, and tourism-related services. The proposed program would offer grants or loans between $20,000 and $100,000 to help businesses expand or make improvements like storefront upgrades, accessibility improvements, or new equipment.

To qualify, businesses need to show how their project would benefit the local economy by creating new jobs or increasing tax revenue.
