Posted on 01/14/2021

Los Alamos County's Emergency Management Office is coordinating with the State Department of Health (NMDOH) to hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Monday, January 18, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Griffith Gymnasium at the Los Alamos High School.  The clinic will be limited to finishing up healthcare workers in phase 1A and starting on phase 1B which includes teachers, frontline essential workers and citizens over age 75. This vaccine clinic is free.

Vaccinations are limited.  Individuals who meet the 1A and 1B criteria and have pre-registered on the NMDOH website will receive notification on how to register either from the NMDOH or their employer.  After receiving notification, if individuals encounter problems registering they can call NMDOH at 1-855-600-3453, press option 0 for vaccine questions, and then option 4 for tech support. Individuals are advised to show up at the designated registration time at the Los Alamos High School’s GriffithGymnasiumlocated at 1300 Diamond Drive. NMDOH officials will request to see each individual’s confirmation code upon check-in.Dress appropriately - you will be standing outside and observing social distancing. Dress in layers, with a short sleeve shirt underneath for vaccine administration.

As previously stated in County news releases, the NMDOH does not expect to have enough vaccine for the general public that does not fall into the above categories until later in 2021.

To pre-register, or, to learn more about the vaccine and "when" the general public might be able to receive it, link to the new NMDOH website:

NMDOH will be the point of contact for all vaccination information, and will notify Los Alamos County's public health officials as soon as they know when shipments of the vaccine will be made available for the community-at-large. At that point, the County will begin advertising vaccination clinics for Los Alamos via press releases, the County Line newsletter, the COVID-19/Pandemic webpage, and its associated ALERT banner pop-up on the home webpage (www.losalamosnm.us), as well as ads in the LA Daily Post.
