Los Alamos County Council is pleased to announce that beginning this Thursday, May 25, councilors will be available monthly to chat with constituents at the local Farmers Market at Ashley Pond. This initiative aims to provide an informal and accessible platform for community members to engage with their elected representatives and discuss matters of local importance.
Constituents are encouraged to drop by and take advantage of this opportunity to meet with councilors face-to-face. The councilors will be available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the last Thursday of each month, starting from May and continuing through October. The exception is in August, when councilors will instead host a booth at the County Fair. It is a wonderful chance for residents to voice their concerns, share ideas, and gain a better understanding of the council's work.
One to three councilors will rotate their presence each month at the Farmers Market. This Thursday Councilors Denise Derkacs, David Reagor and Randall Ryti will be on hand.
The Los Alamos County Council recognizes the importance of engaging with constituents and values their input in shaping local policies and initiatives. By bringing councilors closer to the community in a relaxed and informal setting, this initiative aims to enhance transparency, accessibility, and community involvement in the decision-making process.
