Los Alamos County's Social Services Division is hosting a free event "Ask A Therapist," in partnership with Los Alamos Public Schools, Los Alamos County Municipal Court, JJAB (Juvenile Justice Advisory Board) and SALA Los Alamos. The event is aimed at addressing the critical issue of youth depression and anxiety and is scheduled for Thursday, Sep. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the SALA Event Center, 2551 Central Ave. It is the last in the "Mental Health Matters" series scheduled throughout September.

Survey results will be used to inform the first-ever Climate Action Plan, an important step in shaping the county’s commitment to reduce environmental impacts and prepare for a more sustainable and resilient future. The survey is open until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18.

A software upgrade on Monday, September 25, will impact public-facing operations of the Los Alamos County Customer Care Center (CCC). While representatives will be available to customers from 8 a.m. to noon, they will not be able to make changes to, or enter transactions to, utility accounts. At noon, CCC staff will close the lobby-facing windows in the Municipal Building for the rest of the business day while they attend training. Staff will respond to voice mail and email messages received during that time when they return to the office on Tuesday.
