Published on August 30, 2024
The Public Works Department announced that it will hold its 21st Clean Up Los Alamos Day in conjunction with National Clean Up Day, scheduled for Sept. 21, 2024. Los Alamos County will join over 2 million volunteers across 50 states and U.S. territories with the goal of reducing litter and cleaning up local communities, parks, trails, beaches, and open spaces.
Public Works staff will provide free gloves, trash bags, and trash pickers to volunteers who register by Friday, Sept. 13 at https://lacnm.com/CleanUp-Registration. Registered volunteers can collect their equipment from the Environmental Services division between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Tuesday, Sept. 17, to Friday, Sept. 20, at the Los Alamos ECO Station, 3701 E. Jemez Road.
On Clean Up Los Alamos Day, volunteers may select their own hours to pick up trash for the area they identified in the application. The ECO Station and the White Rock Overlook Collection Center will accept collected trash on Saturday, Sept. 21, for free between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Individuals will be asked to present a driver's license or utility bill that shows they reside in Los Alamos County.
