Library’s Native American Heritage Month Reading & Activity Challenge

Los Alamos Public Library has begun the second annual Reading & Activity Challenge for Native American Heritage Month. The activities include authors, artists, and events to celebrate the heritage, history, and culture of Native Americans with extra focus on the communities of Northern New Mexico. By signing up on lacnm.beanstack.org, you will have access to our curated lists of free events, watch lists, and book lists for all ages.

We are extending the challenge during the month of November—national Native American Heritage Month—and until the end of December 2023 to allow all participants the time to complete as many of the activities as they can. Each activity badge earned will award participants another ticket to our raffle. The raffle prizes are sponsored by the Los Alamos Public Library with the generous support of The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe. Each prize bundle comes with two complementary passes to the museum. All prizes are created by students and alumni from The IAIA and other Native American authors, makers, and creatives.
