The Los Alamos Public Library System will be hosting two workshops in December to help you face the busy season and year-end festivities with calm and focus.

On December 7, 2023, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, at White Rock Branch Library, Gwen Kalavaza will lead a workshop on Being Present. Kristine Coblentz will host an evening of Less Stress, More Ease on December 14, 2023, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at Mesa Public Library.

Gwen Kalavaza’s workshop, Being Present, will explore ways to find peace amongst the chaos and to appreciate the season. Through visualization and energy awareness, participants will become more centered and ease into the present moment. Gwen, our own Library Manager, is also a graduate of the Center of Inner Truth in Santa Fe. She is a certified intuitive instructor of energy work and has taught classes in meditation and energy work. Join Gwen at the White Rock Branch library during the first week of December to help you refocus before the holidays arrive.

Kristine Coblentz will guide participants through her interactive workshop to navigate the holiday season with less stress and more ease. Using mindfulness meditation, gentle movement exercises, and self-compassion practices we will work to lower stress and expectations around the holidays and the new year. Kristine is a certified yoga teacher and mindfulness meditation instructor. She is a leader of mental health programs in our region, and we are very lucky to include her experienced voice to lead this workshop. In both workshops, we welcome all to participate, from beginners to those interested in a tune up for their regular practice. Dress comfortably and come as you are. No need for special equipment.

We ask participants to register in advance to reserve their placements in these free workshops. To learn more about this or any other library event, please visit our event calendar at LosAlamosLibrary.org or call (505) 662-8257.
