Absentee Voting

Information to Add Your Name to the Permanent Absentee Voter List

To join the permanent mail voter list, download the updated request form (link below) and return it to the Clerk's Office by email, USPS, or in person.

Voters may cast an absentee ballot or vote in person at an early voting location prior to Election Day.  New Mexico does not require an excuse to vote with an absentee ballot.  Voters who prefer a ballot to be mailed must complete an absentee application for each election.

Absentee voting begins on Tuesday, May 7th for the 2024 Primary Election. Request an absentee ballot by filling out an application and returning it to the Los Alamos County Clerk.

Your ballot MUST arrive at the Clerk's Office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. We recommend mailing your ballot by Tuesday, May 28, 2024, or returning it to one of the locations listed below.
