Nestled at the base of the Jemez Mountains atop the Pajarito Plateau, Los Alamos Golf Course
offers a challenging 6,500 yard, par 72, 18-hole layout. The course built in 1947 by the Atomic
Energy Commission, is one of the oldest 18-hole courses in New Mexico. Playing through
Ponderosa Pine and Cottonwood, the sloping fairways and small greens provide a challenge to
players of all skill levels. Panoramic vistas and clear, fresh mountain air provide a beautiful
setting for an enjoyable round of golf.
Pro Shop Hours beginning Sunday, March 8th, 2015
Golf Shop hours 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Sunday.
Golf Course closed at 7:00pm.
The first tee time will be 10:00am frost permitting.
Driving range hours open 9:00am, last ball sold 6:00pm, range closing at 6:30pm.
Those that use carts will be restricted to the 90 degree rule. There are some bunkers that may still have snow in them and may be difficult to play from. With the turf still dormant and no recuperative capability any divot taken this time of year will still be there 60 days later. Thus we’ve put mats on all par 3’s and players must play from mats on these holes. This will assist us in having these tees in much better shape for you come spring, when the turf begins to awaken from its winter dormancy.
This time of year we will likely be open for a few days and then close as a winter weather system comes through the area and then reopen as the snow disappears. We will post these open and closures on the County Face book page as well as the golf course web site, or you can certainly call us here at the golf course. We hope to see you out this weekend for the start of another golf season!!!
