Get a high level overiview of all DPU projects by viewing the comprehensive DPU Capital Improvement Synopsis and Projected Schedule here. News Extra: DPU's projects are generally discrete from County projects because they are funded by utility rates paid (not Gross Receipts Taxes [GRT]), and they are engineered, managed and executed by DPU's staff and/or chosen contractors.
Utilities Infrastructure for Today and Tomorrow
Many DPU infrastructure projects have an energy efficiency and/or water conservation component. We continue to foster sustainable practices in accordance with ratepayer preferences expressed in our customer surveys of 2007 and 2009 and Board of Public Utilities guidance. More than 70 percent of survey respondents agreed that it was important or very important for the DPU to "increase efforts to reduce greenhouse gases (p. 60, 2009 Survey).
