News and Updates as of July 27, 2010
The 15,175 square foot Golf Course Community Building was approved with a project budget of $5,390,000
These facilities are to accommodate the golf operations as well as the community in the form of a multi-functional meeting room, banquet space, a catering kitchen for food service, and large outdoor decks.
A special session was held on July 12th, County Council approved moving the Golf Course Community Building project from a Phase 1 (study) to Phase 2 (design & construction), and new construction is the recommended path forward.
With the current state of this recreational asset of the County in very poor condition, the completion of this project will be one step in giving new life to the golf course facility. The new building option had the strong support of not only golfers but other users of the current space that have attended public meetings on this project.
With the completion of the project, it is very likely other recreational, special interest and business groups will be interested in utilizing the space with its new design including improved layout, technology, lighting, acoustics and interior finishes just to name a few.

The second meeting focused on a more developed site plan and building designs. The County also maintained and will continue to main project information on the County website including project updates, project management contact information, and a link to make comments. A comparison of costs for renovating the existing facility to new construction was also presented. During these open houses comment cards were provided and many were filled out and submitted. Several members of the public opted to email comments directly. The County Council discussed the projects at a regular Council Meeting on June 8, 2010 and again during a Special Meeting July 12, 2010.
