The County completed its transaction with Main Gate LLC , the developer of Entrada Business Park, in the Fall of 2008. A new Holiday Inn Express has been constructed to date. Future plans for Entrada Park include building a trailhead with a small parking area near the center of the park, running east toward the County's Airport Basin Site and connecting with the Camp Hamilton Trail. From there, hikers will be able to hike east into Pueblo Canyon. Eventually, trails will allow them to hike west and along the north side of the airport as part of overall plans for the County's Canyon Rim Trail once it is funded.
Los Alamos County selected Main Gate LLC in 2005 to build Entrada Business Park. It was one of the first land transfer/economic development initiatives to be completed.
Entrada encompasses two land transfer parcels from the DOE: Parcels A-3 (conveyed to the County in 2002) and A-7 (conveyed in 2007). Together, they total nearly 18 acres of land.
The groundbreaking for Entrada Business Park took place in January 2006, with special guest Senator Pete Dominici.
