County Update 65 on COVID-19: Call for volunteers to assist with COVID-19 testing at Fuller Lodge starting Jan. 19
Posted on 01/07/2021
Los Alamos County' Emergency Management Office is issuing a call for community volunteers who might be able to assist in upcoming COVID-19 testing that will be occurring at Fuller Lodge every Tuesday until further notice. Coordination for this week's testing event, as well as the upcoming Jan. 12 event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., has been handled through the National Guard. The desire at this point is to use community volunteers to help on Tuesdays with intake, registration and supplying the Curative "swab" to individuals coming in to be tested.

This is a contact-less event on Tuesdays and volunteers will be trained in the process by Los Alamos County. The preference is for those individuals who may be retired from the healthcare industry to provide time and service, if able to assist. The County expects three to four volunteers will be needed each Tuesday. Shifts and details will be provided to volunteers if selected.

To be considered, send an email to Beverley Simpson with name, address, contact info (cell phone or land line) and a few short sentences regarding volunteer experience in healthcare, if applicable. Email Simpson in the Emergency Management Office at beverley.simpson@lacnm.us no later than Tuesday, Jan. 12. Volunteers are expected to begin operations starting Tuesday, Jan. 19. Volunteers will need to work at the event from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to set up and finish up with post-event items.
