The latest email from Angie- August 18, 2010  Wanna be on the e-mail list to hear about cool library programs and and excellent promotions like the free book one below?  Send us a note at ysweb@lacnm.us to be added.

TAG and Club Anime are back on their second Tuesday/last Thursday schedule for September. Join us for one or both- we have snacks, books and tons of fun!  TAG= September 14 @ 4 pm & Club Anime =September 30 @ 3:45.

Teen Book Club has begun for fall with The Comet's Curse by Dom Testa. We have seven copies of this title, so you can get started NOW! What makes our book club extra-special? We have live online chats with the authors!  You can find out more information by calling 662-8258 or come see us and let us tell you about it. OR read our past chats with Gail Giles, Laurie Stolarz and Elizabeth Scott.

Club Anime!

Ramen, pocky, weird mecha, silly shojo, and good times for all!  We usually meet the last Thursday of each month. Our next gathering is September 30 at 3:30 pm at MPL in the Youth Services program room on the 1st floor.  New people are coming- you should be one of them. We sometimes get a selection from Operation Anime, but we also may watch something from MPL's great collection. Don't forget to bring us a permission slip if you're new to the group. The club is for ages 14-19, but only ages 14-17 need a slip. Call 662-8258 for information and details.

Just Wright!

Our writer's group meets again September 28 at 4 pm at MPL. Come put your pen to paper and join our teen writer's group.  We usually meet every two months and everyone is welcome. Bring your writing if you wish, but don't worry about it- we write while we meet. Last time we met, our writing prompts led to inspired creativity from Bear, Ida, and Sierra.

Video games to check out

Hey! There are a dozen or more new Xbox and Xbox 360 games at the library. W00t! Reserve yours now, although we usually have one or two on the shelf to circulate. Let us know what else you'd like to see! ysweb@lacnm.us, subject line "video games". Don't forget to tell us what platform you prefer. The Wii games are rarely on the shelf, so if you want one, stop at any service desk and reserve it. You can also reserve games and other items from home, of course. Have your library card handy!

(are you playing make waves bingo as part of our teen summer reading program?  oh, you are?  well then, you rock!  also the bingo code word is...katniss.)
