The Social Services Division coordinates regular meetings of the Los Alamos Community Health Council (LACHC). LACHC membership includes local social services providers, business representatives, government agencies, and other interested parties. LACHC members focus on working together to help improve the lives of older adults, those in financial crisis, and resiliency for youth and families. The Los Alamos County Council informally recognizes LACHC as its community health planning body and designates a councilor each year to attend monthly meetings. Every two years or so, LACHC conducts a Community Needs Assessment, which helps to guide the County in making decisions about such items as indigent health care, mental health services provided, frail, at-risk or under-served populations, and much more.   2018 is an update year and we are seeking input from community members and agencies.  Your response to our survey will ensure the health profile is shaped by our community.  Please click here for a link to the survey before the February 18th deadline. For questions, please contact the Division at 505-662-8068.

LACHC typically holds public meetings on the first Thursday of each month, from 12:00-1:30 p.m., in Room 330 at the County Municipal Building, located at 1000 Central Avenue, Los Alamos, NM 87544. For more information, please contact LACHC Coordinator, Deni Fell, at 505-663-1875.
