A World-Class, Olympic-Size, High-Altitude Facility

The Aquatic Center offers diverse activities for citizens and visitors of all ages, income levels, fitness levels, and interests in safe and affordable recreation, instruction, fitness, competitive, and therapeutic programs. The Aquatic Center is known internationally as an excellent training facility for teams from around the United States and the world, including Japan, Belgium, New Zealand, Germany, and many more.  Locally the Center supports private swim teams and the Los Alamos High School Swimming and Diving Team.

Scheduled Events

Wacky Wednesdays

Every Wednesday, enjoy discounted admission and something fun for all ages. Wacky Wednesday includes the giant Inflatable Obstacle Course and family friendly movies (G or PG in the Lobby). 

Time:     1:00pm - 4:00pm - Movies, games and more 
               1:00pm - 3:00pm - Inflatable Obstacle Course



Warm Water Weekends

Join us on the weekends for a fun time in the Olympic pool as we raise the temperature to 84-85 degrees. Race your friends on the inflatable obstacle course, play with the any of the water toys or join your friends for a splashing game of basketball.

Open Boating

Practice Time for Canoes, Kayaks and Rafts.The doors open a half hour earlier for boat cleaning before entry. All water craft must be rinsed off on the patio prior to pool entry. Boaters must provide their own boat. All participants must have a wristband for entering in the pool. Life jackets are recommended for participants.

Birthday Parties

The Walkup Aquatic Center has a multi-purpose room just off the deck for a convenient swimming party!

Rental includes: balloons, discounted pool admission, room set up with tables & chairs, and a Happy Birthday banner.  Preferred times to rent the Birthday Room are usually Wacky Wednesday's and Warm Water Weekends.  

Must book two weeks in advance - 25 Maximum

Rental Equipment

The Los Alamos County PROS Division has many types of recreation equipment you can rent at the PROS Administrative Offices to enhance your recreation experience.

Snowshoes & Poles - Adult and youth size snowshoes are available to fit individuals from 50 to 250 pounds, along with ski poles in youth to adult sizes. (November - April)

Miniature Golf Putters - Rent a putter and golf ball to enjoy a round at the miniature golf course located at East Park.

Rentals are available at the Aquatic Center Front Desk
