From time to time, the Los Alamos County Councilors publish their viewpoints on the Editorial page of the local newspaper (the Los Alamos Monitor) under the headline Council Corner. These op-ed pieces cover a variety of current projects, issues, and events at the local, state and federal level. They may be written by one councilor, or, may be a collaboration and submission by two councilors. Articles relate to local government or other local matters of interest.
The County has established this webpage where the electronic files are posted for citizens wishing to read the article after Monitor publication. They typically are posted here on the same day or next business day after they are published in the Monitor.
Past Council Corner files are posted for one calendar year.
(Editor's note: These Council Corner articles represent the view of one or two councilors who are writing as individual councilors. For that reason, they will not necessarily represent the view of the entire County Council. In addition, there are times that the Monitor changes the original Council Corner submission to accommodate newspaper formatting or space considerations. The original (unaltered) version written by the Councilor(s) will typically be the version that appears here on our website, so it may vary slightly from the op-ed Monitor article that is published.)
