Angelica V. Gurule, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of New Mexico, and holds a dual Master’s of Science in Sustainable Environmental Resources Management from the University of Malta and a Master’s of Science in Information, Science, and Technology from James Madison University. Angelica was employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory for ten years and worked in Human Resources and the Environmental Stewardship Office where her work was dedicated to pollution prevention, sustainability, and waste reduction. Most recently, Angelica was employed with the Department of Game and Fish, contributing to the wildlife conservation.
The Environmental Services Division provides solid waste and recycling services to Los Alamos County residents. In addition, the Environmental Sustainability Board was formed to provide public input on the County's sustainability efforts.
Material Loading Assistance: The Eco Station offers free mulch, compost, manure and glass cullet. Residents can get assistance with loading these materials into trucks and trailers from 9 am to 3:30 pm Mon. - Sun. The Eco Station has a smaller staff on Sundays and therefore loading assistance may not be immediately available.
White Rock Overlook Convenience Center:
Located in White Rock in Overlook Park residents can bring brush, trash, and recycling for disposal. The convenience center is open Friday - Tuesday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
